It is my great honor to inform you that the 36th World Congress, the International Institute of Sociology, is to be held in Beijing during July 7-11, 2004.
　　The main theme of the 36th Congress is: "Social Change in the Age of Globalization". In the meantime, keynote speeches, special sessions, roundtable discussions, and seminars will be included. The Congress will provide opportunities to participants from different parts of the world to share ideas and research findings, to communicate with one another, and to establish academic and intellectual relationship for future exchange.
　　The Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, will be the host institute, which will also be willing to organize various programs of social events, including sightseeing tours in, around, and outside Beijing.
